A French star refuses to join the Oscars because of her husband
The French actress, Emmanuelle Seigner, refused an invitation to join the Academy of Film Arts and Sciences in a column in which she attacked the "hypocrisy" of a group that expelled her husband, director Roman Polanski, two months ago.
"How can I ignore the fact that a few weeks ago the Academy expelled my husband, Roman Polanski, in an attempt to keep up with the spirit of the times," said Cienne, in the column published in the French daily Le Journal du Dimanche, A strange case of amnesia.
